Large Satellite Model

This large satellite model was created for training purposes. Our client needed a realistic satellite replica to mount onto a robotic arm.

The wingspan of the satellite model was approximately 4 feet. The solar array frames were laser cut from aluminum for strength. The solar panels were made from back painted acrylic.

The body of the large satellite was made out of an actual telescope. Plastic tubing and detailed 3D printed parts were added, such as rails and sensors. A magnetic cover and  special mylar was wrapped around the apertures.

This large satellite model was built entirely from online photographs found by our model making team.
